Please note, most of our knives are made from high carbon steels making them susceptible to rust and tarnish if not properly cared for.
Knife Care Instructions.
When using one of our knives for cooking and chopping of food products please wash with mild soap and warm water prior to first use.
If a knife is used to cut acidic foods the blade may form a patina, This will not harm the blade and in most cases, it will wear off after the next few uses, just follow the care instructions for cleaning and oiling.
With every knife, after each use that requires the blade to be washed or cleaned in any way, wash the blade with mild soap, dry the blade right away and apply a small amount of cooking oil (vegetable oil, clean lard etc.) to the blade with a clean cloth then wipe off any excess that may be left on the blade.
If the sheath has become wet DO NOT store the knife in the sheath until the sheath is fully dry, this may take several days to a week. It is not advised to place the sheath in an oven or any other heated area above room temperature, this may cause the sheath to shrink.
Following these care instructions will help keep the blade from rusting and keep your knife looking beautiful for years to come.
